-Apply floor treatments, scenic coatings, and surface finishes as assigned.
-Perform finishing steps including putty, sanding, prepping, painting, glazing, and other paint-related treatments.
-Execute scenic fabric finishes, including stretching, grommeting, tufting, or similar treatments.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe paint and chemical storage area, following all safety protocols.
-Coordinate movement of scenic elements between off-site build locations, the local scenic shop, rehearsal hall, and stage as needed.
-Travel to the off-site scenic build location to complete painting and finishing tasks as scheduled.
-Collaborate with the Technical Director and Scenic Carpenter to meet build deadlines and design needs.
-Assist with Totem Pole Playhouse's "Tucked Away Treasures" Series and Camp Performances as needed.
-Perform other duties traditionally associated with paint and finishing roles in live theatrical production.
Requirements:
-Moderate experience in scenic painting and finishing, including traditional scenic techniques and fabric treatments.
-Comfort working with paints, coatings, cleaners, and other chemicals commonly used in scenic finishing.
-Ability to work on tall ladders, lift at least 50 lbs., and manage long, physically demanding hours, including work in non-temperature-controlled environments.
-Ability to follow design direction closely while maintaining consistent, high-quality finishes.
-Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
-Ability and willingness to travel to an off-site shop location as required.
-Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with the Scenic Department and other technical crew members.
