POSITION OVERVIEW
The Production Stage Manager coordinates the day-to-day execution of the production and serves as the central point of communication between the artistic, technical, and production teams. Working closely with the Director, Designers, and Production staff, this role oversees production logistics, documentation, and cueing to ensure the safe, efficient, and consistent operation of the production.

COMPENSATION
$6,000+ndash;$7,000, dependent on experience.
TRAVEL + HOUSING
Housing provided (homestay or shared housing, private bedroom).
Travel reimbursement up to $300 (with receipts).
Applicants must have their own transportation or arrange local travel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the lead stage management authority, overseeing all stage management operations for the production.
Act as the primary liaison between the Director, Conductor, Music Staff, Designers, and Production leadership.
Develop, maintain, and distribute comprehensive production documentation, including reports and run-of-show materials.
Coordinate all musical and technical cueing, ensuring alignment between stage action, orchestra, and technical departments.
Supervise and support the stage management team, deck staff, and run crew as applicable.
Ensure safe, efficient, and consistent execution of the production throughout technical rehearsals and performances.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated experience serving as a Production Stage Manager or Lead Stage Manager on professional operatic productions.
Strong working knowledge of operatic production workflows, including collaboration with conductors, music staff, and technical departments.
Proven ability to manage complex schedules, maintain comprehensive production documentation, and lead cross-department communication.
Experience coordinating and calling musical and technical cues in alignment with orchestra and stage action.
Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to safe work practices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb for extended periods
Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry materials up to 50 pounds independently
Comfortable working at heights, including ladders or lifts
Ability to perform repetitive motions and manual tasks
Comfortable working in shop, stage, and rehearsal environments
Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required
