The Sharon Playhouse, the historic, professional, nonprofit theater located in the foothills of the beautiful Berkshire Mountains, is seeking to fill the role of YouthStage Production and Launchpad Manager for its 2026 summer season. The Sharon Playhouse offers you the opportunity to work alongside professional artists from NYC, the tri-state area, and beyond. Our YouthStage season includes Pooh+rsquo;s Parade, Matilda Jr., Big Bad, Shrek, Kids, the Launchpad Company production of Zombie Prom, and a school partnership production of Shrek, Kids with Indian Mountain School.

The YouthStage and Launchpad Production Manager reports to the Education Team and Playhouse Staff.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as Production Manager for all YouthStage Productions (a school partnership production of Shrek, Kids with Indian Mountain School, the Summer YouthStage productions of Pooh+rsquo;s Parade, Big Bad, Matilda Jr, Shrek Kids, and the Launchpad Company production of Zombie Prom).
Oversee and manage all production aspects of the YouthStage season, ensuring smooth execution of rehearsals and performances.
Be responsive to emails and communicate regularly and promptly with Directors, Stage Managers, Education Team, and others as appropriate.
Develop and maintain a detailed production calendar, coordinating rehearsal schedules, tech deadlines, load-ins and outs, and performance dates.
Schedule and lead all YouthStage Production Meetings.
Track and manage the YouthStage production budgets, including set, costumes, props, and technical elements.
Be present for all YouthStage technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performances to ensure that all production needs are met.
With the Technical Director, organize strike and post-show clean-up, ensuring all borrowed or rented items are returned and spaces are restored.
Supervise and mentor young performers and backstage crew, fostering a positive and educational production environment.
Support the MainStage Production Manager in making weekly schedules for the Seasonal Staff and Apprentices.
When available and able, support the MainStage Production Manager on MainStage production elements.


Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a minimum of 2 years experience in technical theater and production.
A Bachelor+rsquo;s Degree in Theater, Technical Direction or Production is preferred.
Proven technical aptitude and demonstrated leadership and management experience.
Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently, excellent organizational and time-management skills, a positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.
Zoom, Google Docs, Word processing, Excel spreadsheets, and an advanced understanding of budgeting and scheduling is required.


Dates of employment are from May 11-August 23, 2026. This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Compensation is structured as a weekly rate of $500 (not hourly) and will be prorated based on arrival date and total weeks worked. The Sharon Playhouse is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
