Drama Desk Award-winning TADA! Youth Theater actively seeks a House Manager for its upcoming Summer musical.
TADA! Youth Theater is committed to producing high quality original musical productions for family audiences. We are also committed to building and fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce that is representative of our vastly diverse Resident Youth Ensemble of TADA! (RYET) Program. TADA! is continually working to become a more anti-racist and anti-oppressive organization. Priority will be given to candidates who are dedicated to anti-racism and share our mission and vision. Candidates from underrepresented racial or ethnic groups, people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ individuals are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should be comfortable with customer service, de-escalation, speaking in front of crowds, and managing a small staff of volunteer ushers that are RYET parents and RYET Members. Applicants should also be comfortable working in a youth environment and have compassion and intercultural sensitivity towards people of various identity markers and life experiences
COMPENSATION: Part-Time position. $20/hour paid through bimonthly payroll to begin July 9th
COMMITMENT: July 9th-July 31st
- Onboarding: July 9th, 9:30am-2:00pm
- Performances: July 10th-July 31st
- Friday, July 10th, Invited Dress 7:00pm (Call time 2:00-8:30pm)
- Saturday, July 11th, Opening 7:00pm (Call time typically 5:30-9:00pm)
- Tuesday, Thursday, Fridays 11:00am + 1:30pm (Call time typically 9:30am-3:00pm)
- Wednesdays 11:00am + 1:45pm (Call time typically 9:30-3:15pm)
- Saturdays 2:00pm (Call time typically 12:30-3:30pm)
- Friday, July 31st 1:30pm + 4:00pm (Call time 12:00pm-6:00pm)
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Point of contact for all audience members throughout the show to facilitate a joyful showgoing experience
- Training and managing of volunteer ushers consisting of RYET Members ages 11+ and parents/guardians.
- General lobby, theater house, and bathroom upkeep including vacuuming, sanitizing, trash removal, supply restocking
- Facilitating the seating process along with the Box Office Manager while managing ushers
- Completing a thorough daily report in a timely manner
- Enforcing all COVID procedures for audience members (if necessary)
- Other Front of House duties as assigned
