The Senior Estimator / Technical Analyst is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates by analyzing technical drawings and specifications for custom fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities

+bull; Prepare budgets and detailed proposals for scenic construction with minimal oversight.
+bull; Propose creative solutions and new building techniques to meet budget, schedule, design, and technical requirements of client.
+bull; Review potential projects with Project Management team identifying construction challenges and potential areas of concern; Provide written and oral summaries to PMs.
+bull; Detail materials and methods for construction for pricing.
+bull; Research vendors and analyze historical data to prepare time, material, and labor cost estimates.
+bull; Consult with other Hudson departments including Engineering, Scenic Artists, Automation, Set Electrics, Production Management, etc.
+bull; Solicit and negotiate pricing from vendors and subcontractors
+bull; Maintain project records, gather and review historical and live project data to aid in future estimation.
+bull; Deliver recommendations on cost saving initiatives within the pricing and bidding components. Provide CEO with ongoing feedback and analysis on increasing the cost efficiency of estimation price points.
+bull; Review and provide feedback on bids and estimates prepared by others.

Qualifications

+bull; Minimum of 5-7 years in commercial theatre or entertainment industry construction + estimating. Technical Director
+bull; Seasoned understanding of scenic construction and automation.
+bull; Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, and strong AutoCAD skills.
+bull; Experience working with IATSE Local One and/or USA 829 contracts for stagehand and artists a plus.
+bull; Ability to effectively prioritize, execute, and problem solve in a high-pressure environment and work efficiently within given time constraints.
+bull; Ability to communicate ideas clearly.
+bull; Self-motivated; team oriented and highly collaborative work style.
