Every summer, Dorset Theatre Festival draws from some of this country+rsquo;s most talented playwrights, actors, and directors to launch new plays that go on to national acclaim, mount regional premieres to bring the best of Off-Broadway to Vermont, and incubate emerging playwrights and artists.

About the Position:
Dorset Theatre Festival seeks a Box Office Manager for its 2026 summer season. Employment dates run May 26th through about September 14th.

Box Office duties include overseeing box office operations, providing customer service to patrons over the phone and at the box office, and supervising the seasonal box office staff.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) daily reviews of ticket sales and deposits, maintaining up-to-date patron information, running various sales reports, presenting a welcoming and safe environment for patrons, implementation support and proper tracking of all ticket access programs, supporting the house manager and volunteer ushers pre-performance, and supporting special events and company projects as needed.

The Box Office Manager will also work with the Patron Services Manager to coordinate marketing and communication plans for single ticket sales, patron retention efforts, group sales, and student matinee campaigns. Assist with web-based marketing efforts, promotional and grassroots marketing, public relations, and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have box office/marketing experience, strong organizational and writing skills, possess the ability to multitask, work well under pressure, be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and positive. Teaching/mentoring experience is necessary. This position requires nights and weekend shifts. Familiarity with Excel, Google Docs required. Experience with cash handling and AudienceView or another CRM/Ticketing software highly desirable.

Compensation:
Salary is $575-625/week DOE; single occupancy bedroom in a shared house for the summer season.
