Theatre UP of Littleton, NH is looking for a set carpenter for three upcoming productions in Season 46 with the potential to continue with us into the future. This important role requires a combination of technical skills such as set design reading, proficiency with hand and power tools, and knowledge of woodworking techniques, along with soft skills such as problem-solving, attention to detail, and physical stamina. The set carpenter must also have strong communication and mathematical abilities for planning and executing projects accurately.


Theatre UP is a community theatre and therefore relies heavily on volunteers and stipend workers who understand the minimal resources available. Our stipend contract workers, including the set carpenter, receive compensation equal to the standard rate in the community theatre world. This position is best suited for someone who:
Loves working with their hands to create dynamic sets
Is interested in contributing to a long-standing community organization
Is self-directed, as much of the work may be done off-site and on their own time


The stipend for this role is between $800 + $1200 per show. Remaining Season 46 shows are in March + May, so the work timeframe is between February and April. A full season includes four shows, and there is potential to continue the contract into Season 47 and beyond.
