Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre is currently seeking artists + technicians of diverse disciplines to apply for Production positions with our company. Our production team will mount 3 productions during the season, with a compensation package tailored to their roles, including complimentary housing within easy walking distance of the theatre. SCENIC CARPENTER (SEEKING TWO)
Start/End Date: May 18th - July 5th, 2026
Compensation: $500/wk

Reports To: Technical Director, Assistant Technical Director, Production Manager
Primary Responsibilities
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
-Collaborate with the Technical Director (TD) and Assistant Technical Director (ATD) to construct scenery
-Work from cut lists provided by the ATD
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scene shop and associated workspaces
-Maintain, repair, and properly care for tools and equipment
-Assist with all phases of the build process, including prepping units for the paint shop and performing repairs as needed
-Participate in all load-ins, changeovers, and strikes throughout the contract period
Qualifications; Scenic Carpenter
Required Skills and Experience:
-Carpentry and/or scene shop experience
-Proficiency with woodworking techniques and power tools
-Strong commitment to safety practices when using tools and equipment
-Welding experience (preferred, but not required)
-Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
-Knowledge of carpentry tools, theatrical hardware, and basic rigging
-Ability to lift 50 lbs
-Comfortable working at heights and on ladders
-Willingness to learn new methods and techniques from the TD and ATD
-Strong creative, technical, and artistic problem-solving abilities
-Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time-management, multitasking, and communication skills
-Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
-Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
-Commitment to a safe, respectful, and equitable work environment
-Valid driver's license (preferred)
