Our work blends art, engineering, and storytelling+mdash;requiring a team that can problem-solve creatively as well as fabricate with precision and a high level of finish quality. Key Responsibilities
-Fabrication + Installation
-Lead construction of scenic and fabricated elements using wood, steel, aluminum, and specialty materials.
-Carpentry, welding, metal fabrication, and finish prep as needed.
-Interpret shop drawings, fabrication plates, and technical documents to produce with accuracy.
-Identify potential construction issues early and propose workable solutions.
-Travel when required for out of town installs, etc..
Crew Leadership + Workflow Management
-Oversee daily activities of a small shop crew, ensuring efficient and safe workflow.
-Assign tasks, manage priorities, and communicate project expectations clearly.
-Train team members on tools, fabrication techniques, and shop standards.
-Maintain a positive, productive work environment and uphold shop safety policies.
-Technical Drawing Review + Minor Revisions
-Review shop drawings from the Technical --Design + Operations Lead for clarity, buildability, and accuracy.
-Make minor updates or redlines in AutoCAD when necessary.
-Provide feedback to improve future drawing consistency and production efficiency.
Shop Operations Support
-Maintain cleanliness, organization, and general readiness of the fabrication floor.
-Monitor material inventory and communicate needs to the Operations Manager.
-Troubleshoot equipment issues and help coordinate repairs or maintenance.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
-Exceptional carpenter with finish carpentry experience.
-Strong welding skills in steel and aluminum. MIG required, working knowledge of TIG is a bonus.
-Experience with CNC and other fabrication machinery (preferred).
-Ability to read and interpret technical drawings confidently.
-Ability to effectively make and assess engineering and structural choices to ensure the safety of all involved.
-Proficiency in AutoCAD for simple drawing edits.
-Understanding of scenic construction, themed fabrication, or custom build workflows.
-Knowledge of and respect for safe work practices.
Experience
-5+ years of professional fabrication experience in a shop environment.
-2+ years in a lead, foreperson, or senior fabricator role preferred.
-Experience in theatrical or themed entertainment environments preferred.
-Capable of performing work self-sufficiently with minimal supervision.
-Driver+rsquo;s license and ability to drive 26+rsquo; box trucks.
-Comfortable on fork and scissor lifts.

Physical Requirements
-Comfortable standing, walking, lifting/moving 50+ lbs, climb ladders, have ability to use tools and work in a fabrication environment.
-Able to use PPE and operate tools/machinery safely.
-Comfortable with heights.
Compensation
-$22-30/hour commensurate with experience
-80 hours of PTO after 90 days
