Event Operations Coordinator

Precon Events is a leader in live event production, known for creating memorable experiences through the combined expertise of our Producers, Technical Directors, Project Managers, and event specialists. We are seeking a hands-on Event Operations Coordinator to support our scenic shop, warehouse, and onsite event builds. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, building and test-fitting scenic elements, and being part of the crew that brings events to life on show site.
Role Summary
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role supporting scenic fabrication, warehouse preparation, and onsite event installations and strikes. This position works under the direction of production leadership and supports designers by helping fabricate, test fit, pack, and install scenic elements. This is a skilled, physical role for someone comfortable using saws and hand tools, following build plans, and working as part of a production crew in a fast-paced event environment.
Key Responsibilities
Scenic Fabrication + Shop Work
-Assist with building, assembling, painting, repairing, and prepping scenic elements, props, and decor.
-Use saws, drills, and other hand and shop tools to fabricate and modify scenic components.
-Support test fitting and mock-ups of scenic elements in the shop prior to events.
-Maintain shop cleanliness, safety, and organization.
Warehouse + Logistics Support
-Help organize, prep, and pack scenic elements, hardware, and equipment for events.
-Load and unload trucks and move equipment within the warehouse and on-site.
-Assist with basic inventory organization and pull lists under supervision.
Event Production + Stagehand Work
-Assist with setting up and breaking down event spaces including staging, pipe and drape, furniture, d+eacute;cor, and scenic installs.
-Serve as a stagehand or crew member during load-ins, live events, and strikes.
-Follow direction from production leads to ensure safe, efficient execution on show site.
-Work on local events and occasionally travel for national projects.
What You Bring to the Table
Required
-Comfort using hand tools and basic power tools (saws, drills, etc.).
-Ability to lift 50+ lbs and be on your feet for extended periods.
-Dependable, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
-Comfortable working early mornings, late nights, and weekends as required by event schedules.
-Valid drivers license.
Preferred
-3 years of experience in events, theater, scenic fabrication, construction, or warehouse work.
-Carpentry, scenic shop, or stagehand experience.
-Familiarity with following build drawings or instructions (no design experience required).
