Assistant Production Manager

* Pay: $900.00 a week, exempt salaried position
* Housing: Shared housing, fully furnished, collegiate style with a shared bedroom. Weekly Housing fee of $100.00

Primary Responsibilities
Essential functions include (but are not limited to):
* Direct Supervisor: Director of Production
* Have good knowledge of all the shows in the season
* Oversee and assist with scenic construction of all productions
* Assist with the scene shop, props, paints, and any department needing help
* Assist other departments as a +ldquo;floater+rdquo;
* Assist with operating, maintaining, and safeguarding the technical assets of the theatre
* Assist with all concerts, TYA productions, and events with scheduling, production meetings, load-ins + strikes,
technical rehearsals and performances
* Assist with all mainstage productions with run-throughs, backstage prep, all technical rehearsals, load-ins + strikes,
technical rehearsals and performances
* Assist with overhire staff for load ins, strikes and in shows as needed
* Assisting with communications with all departments
* Assist designers for each department in order implement their designs as needed
* Assist with deadlines, and schedules
* Assist with production meetings and training sessions
* Ensuring that all rules and regulations set by Bowdoin College are strictly adhered too
* Participate in MSMT events as scheduled
* Adhere to the MSMT Safety protocols and all other applicable MSMT policies + procedures
* Drive MSMT vehicles
* Promote a collaborative, inclusive, positive and respectful working environment
* Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Production and MSMT Annual Staff

Qualifications
The following skills and experience are required:
* Knowledge of the inner workings of all production departments
* Proficiency in carpentry, welding, rigging, scenic construction techniques, automation, theatrical effects, lighting, sound, video/projections, costumes, and other relevant technical theatre areas
* Trained in the safe operation of stationary and portable power tools and hand tools
* Able to manage teams and foster both team and individual growth among employees
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, multi-tasking, problem solving, and communication skills
* Experience working in a fast-paced, energized, and quickly changing environment
* Able to work independently and as a team player
* Detail oriented and able to prioritize efficiently and multi-task
* Proficient with Microsoft Office and other applicable software
* Drivers license and clean driving record required
* Car preferred but not required
