Cortland Repertory Theatre is accepting resumes for our Costume Shop Manager position for our 2026 summer season. CRT is a professional theater located in upstate New York, a half hour south of Syracuse, on the edge of the Finger Lakes Region.
Our 2026 summer season will run from May 18 - August 15. Shows include Oklahoma, Baskerville, 9 to 5, Daddy Long Legs, and Annie, plus one or two other special events throughout the season.
The theatre is an intimate (30ft x 30ft, with 10ft proscenium height) 250 seat, three-quarter round thrust stage, located on the second floor of a national historic building. Costume shop is located 20 minutes from theatre.
Salary is $700 a week. Travel expenses to Cortland are reimbursed up to $100. Housing is provided in single room/shared suite. We work 6 days a week; payday is Thursday of each week.

The Costume Shop Manager is responsible for:
+bull; In collaboration with the Costume Designer, manage the construction and alteration of all costumes for all the mainstage and children+rsquo;s theatre productions.
+bull; Assist with the pulling and/or borrowing/renting and return of costumes as required by the costume designer.
+bull; Supervision, organization and record keeping of Costume Department budgets.
+bull; Ordering supplies, organization of costume shop and maintenance of equipment during season.
+bull; Supervise and manage schedules of Costume Shop Intern/Stitcher and Wardrobe Technician.
+bull; Managing the cleaning, repair, restocking/returning of costumes.
+bull; Provide expertise and advice in areas of hairstyle, wigs and makeup.
+bull; Coordination with Stage Manager to schedule fittings as required.
+bull; Assign, delegate and personally participate in all load-ins and strikes.
+bull; Maintenance of inventory list at the end of season.
+bull; Pack, clean and close shop at the end of season.
Requirements:
+bull; Excellent organizational, budgeting and project management skills.
+bull; Strong knowledge of sewing, pattern making, costume construction and crafting.
+bull; Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative and sometimes physically demanding environment.
+bull; Minimal 2 - 3 years+rsquo; experience in an established costume shop, or college equivalent.
+bull; Excellent personnel, organizational, time management and communication skills.
+bull; Proven ability to motivate, manage and coordinate staff members of varying skill levels.
+bull; Well-established skills in handling budgets and scheduling.
+bull; Driver's license with clean driving record. Own car REQUIRED.
