Little Island seeks a Production Electrician to join the Artistic Programming team. In this role you will be responsible for supervising the installation, operation and maintenance of lighting elements for a variety of multi-disciplinary events and performances, working with the repertory design team and project-specific designers to translate lighting design drawings into complete working systems.
A successful Production Electrician will be a flexible team member with a passion for supporting artistic needs, strong problem-solving skills and experience in entertainment industry electrical work. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, prioritizes safety and values hospitality in all aspects of their work. This position is governed by Little Island+rsquo;s collective bargaining agreement with IATSE Local One and reports directly to the Production Manager.
ABOUT THE ROLE
+bull; Hourly Rate: $41.00
+bull; Job Type: Temporary
+bull; Employment Classification: Begins as Part-Time and shifts to Full-Time, Non-Exempt
+bull; Schedule Expectations:
- January +ndash; June 2026: the schedule will be primarily administrative work conducted remotely. Anticipated average of 2-4 hours per week, ramping up in mid-May.
- June - Late July 2026: the schedule will include frequent day time, evening, overnight, holiday and weekend shifts. Anticipated average of 40-50 hours per week.
- Late July +ndash; Early September 2026: schedule flexible based on needs of programming and candidate. Anticipated average of 20-30 hours per week available.
- Mid-September 2026: the schedule will include frequent day shifts, averaging approximately 40 hours per week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
+middot; Work closely with the Production Manager, project-specific designers and other Artistic Programming personnel to ensure the successful execution of the technical requirements for a variety of events.
+middot; Generate all required paperwork to ensure successful execution of lighting design.
+middot; Supervise shop prep, ensuring that equipment is prepared according to designer specifications.
+middot; Collaborate with both repertory and show-specific design teams on technical execution of lighting system design.
+middot; Oversee the load-in of lighting equipment into Little Island+rsquo;s venues, ensuring that work is conducted in a safe manner.
+middot; Collaborate with other departments to solve technical problems that arise during load-in.
+middot; Troubleshoot electrics equipment as required.
+middot; Collaborate on interdepartmental projects during load-in and tech.
+middot; Work with design team during technical rehearsals to adjust lighting system to meet artistic goals.
+middot; Adhere to Little Island+rsquo;s safety protocols and actively contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
+middot; Perform other duties and tasks related to the park and its artistic programming operations as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
+bull; Relevant lighting experience, including demonstrated proficiency in programming, safe rigging practices and general lighting system troubleshooting techniques.
+bull; Experience with Lightwright and Vectorworks, especially as it relates to creating paperwork for shop prep.
+bull; Familiarity with setup and networking needs of both EOS and MA lighting consoles.
+bull; Familiarity with GroundControl followspot operation and maintenance is a plus.
+bull; Strong interest in working in public performance settings where guest interaction is a regular component of day-to-day production activities.
+bull; Knowledge of aerial lift operation (including scissor lifts and articulating boom lifts) is a plus.
+bull; A commitment to fostering camaraderie and excellence by proactively collaborating and problem-solving across departments.
+bull; Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. overhead for sustained periods.
+bull; Comfort with safely ascending and descending ladders.
+bull; Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
