Compensation: $4,000 for 14 weeks + travel, room, and all meals
Reports to: Costume Shop Manager and Production Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Supervise and assist with all costume shop builds and participate in all load-ins and strikes.
- Work with designers and shop staff in maintenance/repair, stock pulling, and borrowing.
- Maintain deadlines for draping, fittings, and stitching of multiple garments during build periods.
- Supervision of Costume Interns and Acting Interns working in the Costume Shop.
- Assist with or learn wig construction as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in costume construction and modification techniques.
- Skilled in draping and alterations. Flat patterning experience is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions, complete jobs from start to finish, and work independently with minimal supervision on multiple projects at once.
- Comfortable with instructing and supervising interns.
- Must be able to climb stairs, stand, and kneel for extended periods of time, and be able to lift twenty pounds, while working backstage effectively in a low-light environment.
- Driver's license preferred but not required.
