About Stage Right

For over 40 years of operation, Stage Right has become the top company in lighting for concerts, shows, corporate events, and weddings. From events in Washington DC to weddings in the Outer Banks to installations all across Hampton Roads, Stage Right has grown into a prominent live events company.

Starting as a one-person build team, the fabrication department has expanded to create custom scenery and fabricating material and hardware for Stage Right and other clients. The department covers many types of construction, from woodworking to steel fabrication to waterjet machining to painting + powder coating. The department also repairs moving lights, hazers, foggers, snow machines, video wall panels, CM chain motors, and other theatrical electronics.

General Job Description

The fabricator primarily works in the FAB shop. This position builds projects for Stage Right and outside clients. The work involves working with shop tools including wood construction, joinery, MIG + TIG welding, operating a waterjet machine, painting and powder coating. This job also assists the shop management with other tasks as needed including equipment repair and maintenance.

Some night and weekend work may be required. Driving box trucks (16+rsquo; + 26+rsquo;) to pick-up supplies and deliver finished elements is expected. Most hours will occur at the FAB shop; however, there are some scenarios when job site work is necessary.

As a Stage Right employee, the employee may be asked to join a team for a job outside of the Fabrication department, such as a production or wedding event. These calls will likely be given days in advance.
