About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for a Crew Chief to join the team at The Hook, located within Caesars in Atlantic City. The Crew Chief is a team player and leader, overseeing not only the show crew but also venue maintenance and all technical production. This position coordinates both with internal teams at The Hook and also the greater Spiegelworld Production team with the end-goal of supporting our world-class production through effective personnel management, venue and equipment maintenance, and by resolving both anticipated and unanticipated issues that arise during daily operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive and hands-on manager, and a great communicator. The Crew Chief will also be expected to learn and run show tracks to provide coverage as needed on a weekly basis. This position reports to the Theatrical General Manager and is supported by the Senior Production Manager. This is a full-time position and the salary is $88k - $91k / year based on experience.

What You'll Do

Hands-on oversight of show operations and venue facilities within our 400-seat theater.
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, setting the standard for excellence in the venue.
Manage The Hook crew, including not only our full-time technicians but also our part-time swings and substitutes. Assist with hiring, evaluating, motivating, and coaching all crew members to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.
Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
Create and distribute a weekly crew schedule, based on the weekly rehearsal, and show schedules provided by stage management.
Weekly review and approval of crew timesheets and payroll
Oversee regular inspections of venue equipment and arranging for preventive maintenance as necessary.
Work with crew leads to compile regular maintenance tasks, and schedule maintenance calls.
Maintain/ Update and distribute weekly and biweekly inspections.
Learn and run show tracks for all technical departments, as necessary on a weekly basis.
Assist with budgeting and purchasing show related supplies and consumables.
Work with the artistic team to coordinate materials for new artist arrival and put-ins, and to ensure that all technical requirements for new acts are met
Always maintain a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures.
Shared responsibility for opening and closing the venue as needed.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What You Bring

Must have 5 years of experience in managing in a theatrical environment.
Must have OSHA 30 certification or completed in 90 days upon start of employment.
Rigging and Automation experience a plus.
An Ideal candidate will provide evidence of continuing education in associated fields.
IATSE crew management experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to perform aerial equipment inspections.
Able to effectively communicate in English in written and verbal forms.
Basic knowledge computer software to include Google Docs, Sheets and Meets, MS Word, Excel, and Docs as well as office equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always changing, never dull, creative environment.
Exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude.
Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Excellent organizational skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to effectively delegate projects.
Ability to exhibit extreme patience.
Successful reference + background check clearance prior to hire.
Must be 21 years of age or older and have valid work authorization for the US.
