Berkshire Theatre Group, celebrating its 98th year as a professional theatre in Western MA, is accepting resumes for an Audio + Projections Engineer for the 2026 summer season. The festival will have five produced productions, plus concerts and special events on two stages. Weekly salary of $600 plus housing and all utilities provided. This is a full-time, seasonal position. Work schedules may include evenings and weekends and may exceed 40 hours during technical rehearsals and performances, in accordance with applicable labor laws. Summer season runs from mid May until mid/late August. Employment dates vary based on position.

The Colonial Theatre (founded in 1903) and Berkshire Theatre Festival (founded in 1928) are among the oldest cultural institutions in the Berkshires. In 2010, the two organizations merged under the leadership of Artistic Director and CEO Kate Maguire to form Berkshire Theatre Group. Today, BTG serves more than 68,000 patrons annually and reaches over 11,000 Berkshire County students through its education programs.
BTG is nationally recognized for artistic leadership and innovation, including becoming the first theatre company in the U.S. approved by Actors' Equity Association to produce a musical during the COVID-19 pandemic. This position reports to: Audio + Projections Supervisor and ultimately, the Director of Productions.

Qualifications:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Required:
- Proficient experience in theatre sound sound related fields
- Google Suite basic understanding (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets).
- Basic networking knowledge (OSC knowledge recommended).
- QLab 4 + 5 knowledge.
- Yamaha and Midas mixing console experience.
- Live theatre mixing experience.
- Mic rig building + A2 skills
- Ability to multitask on concurrent projects

Preferred:
- Level 1 or 2 Dante certification.
- Rigging experience.
- Projections knowledge (Epson + Panasonic).
- OSC programming experience.
- Extension ladder and genie lift operation experience

Responsibilities:
Berkshire Theatre Group is committed to maintaining a safe working environment and provides safety training and protocols for all technical positions. Employees are expected to utilize that training and adhere to protocols when fulfilling the following responsibilities:

- Communicate and prepare all paperwork in conjunction with the production sound and designers.
- Production Audio for shows as assigned
- Create all necessary paperwork to load in, run and strike the production.
- Mix musicals or mics as assigned.
- A2 Musicals as assigned.
- Program mixing consoles.
- Run projections playback as needed per show.
- Participate in any audio + projections department calls (load-ins, load-outs, calibration, hang, etc..).
- Assist or lead other projects as assigned (ex. Inventory, rewiring speakers, research on new gear).
- Additional duties will be reasonably related to the employee's department and skill set.

Expectations:
- Effectively and efficiently communicate within the audio + projections department as well as with other departments, designers and directors.
- Collaborate with coworkers on assigned tasks.
- Maintain the audio + projections department to your supervisor's standard of work.
- Uphold the image of the organization and abide by the mission statement
- Handle pressure professionally in high stress situations.
- Read all production scripts.
- Be flexible on job assignments.
- Collaborate with the Audio + Projections Supervisor to improve policies and procedures utilized by yourself and others.
- Represent the organization appropriately and abide by the mission statement.
- Demonstrate behavior showing a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Perform work in a manner that is consistent with that commitment.

The Berkshires is a nationally recognized and deeply collaborative arts community, with multiple organizations working together each season to support high-quality theatre production. As part of this regional partnership, Berkshire Theatre Group occasionally collaborates with neighboring theatres by sharing resources such as props, equipment, scenic elements, and, at times, staff support.

Audio + Projection Engineers may occasionally be assigned to assist on work calls at partner theatres in the region. These assignments are considered part of your regular employment with Berkshire Theatre Group and are counted toward your weekly work hours. When this occurs, your schedule at BTG will be adjusted accordingly.
