HOUSE MANAGER
Seasonal, Full-Time Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Patron Relations + Stewardship
Start Date: June 8, 2026 (dates subject to slight change)
End Date: September 13, 2026 (dates subject to slight change)
Housing: Shared Room, shared kitchen and bath in company housing
Compensation: $515/week + overtime, housing included
Hiring Schedule: Interviews will begin on or about January 19, 2026

Overview
Weston Theater Company (WTC) is designed to be a collaborative organization; employees forge interdepartmental relationships and contribute to a positive and supportive workplace through teamwork, flexibility, and goal-oriented cooperation. The successful candidate will be passionate and engaged in their area of expertise, but also demonstrate a willingness to help other departments if needed in order to fulfill WTC+rsquo;s mission; To create theater to engage, entertain, and inspire our ever-expanding community.

Weston Theater Company is located in rural southern Vermont. Having an appreciation for nature and a quiet small-town vibe for the summer is essential. What we lack in population density, public transportation, and urban conveniences is offset by the beauty of 400,000 acres of national forests, lakes, and quintessential general stores.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
House manage each performance and liaise effectively with stage management;
Provide excellent customer service to patrons and assist patrons and ushers;
Coordinate patron management during emergency situations;
Resolve patron concerns or refer to box office as appropriate;
Manage volunteer ushers at each performance;
Understand and enforce Weston Theater+rsquo;s Covid-19 protocols with ushers and patrons;
Assist box office staff with patron check-in as needed;
Prepare House Management report at the end of each performance - noting house counts, front of house notes, or patron concerns;
Keep restrooms stocked and clean before and during performances, sweep or vacuum the lobby and house of the theater before each performance and check for trash and left behind items, take out lobby and bathroom trash or left behind items, other cleaning/upkeep responsibilities as needed;
Assist development and company management teams with events such as opening nights, and more.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in leadership positions and/or working with volunteers;
Collaborative and consistent work ethic with the ability to maintain and exude pleasant, calm demeanor under fluctuating schedules, workloads, and personalities;
Enjoy working with people and be interested in hospitality and community relations;
Excellent decision-making skills;
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, collaborative, and communication skills;
Computer literacy with emphasis on Office 365 preferred, but not required;
Ability to work irregular schedules, including nights, with a positive attitude;
Ability to work well under stress;
At least 21 years of age;
First Aid/CPR Training and Certification is a plus but will be provided if needed;
Located in rural Vermont, driving duties and commutes may vary so while a personal car is not required, having one is strongly advised.
