STAGES St. Louis, a professional musical theatre company entering our 40th season, is seeking Production Staff to join our 2026 Season. The Season, which runs from May through October, consists of three large-scale musicals: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Guys and Dolls, and Come from Away. Start and End dates depend on each individual position. All seasonal positions are paid bi-weekly on Fridays. Although limited, housing is available on a first come first serve basis. STAGES St. Louis strives to create a diverse and inclusive environment.

DRESSER
STAGES St. Louis is looking for Dressers for our 2026 season. Although start and end dates are flexible, they are generally from July to October. The Dressers work closely with the other members of the wardrobe staff to assist performers with costume wear and change.

1. Required skills
a. Confident working with complex costumes, working quickly and effectively.
b. Competent in machine and hand sewing techniques and the ability to do minor repairs and notes.
c. Able to follow a complex wardrobe track including many moving pieces and adapt to changes.
d. Preference will be given to people with previous experience dressing musicals
e. Comfortable with domestic and industrial irons and garment steamers.

2. Required duties
a. Prep, pre-set, track, and assist with costumes before, after, and during each rehearsal and performance
b. Assist with loading in each production.
c. Assist setup, maintenance, and tear down of dressing rooms
d. Perform quick changes as assigned by Wardrobe Supervisor
e. Perform repairs or alterations on costumes, shoes, wigs, and accessories
f. Assist in the strike and storage of each production
g. Assist in the costume shop as needed between shows

d. Commitment to performing all aspects of job with respect to design adherence as well as safety

4. Organizational
a. Read and adhere to the guidelines in the Employee Handbook
b. Other duties as assigned

Working conditions can include long days, nights and weekends, and some overtime. The noise levels will vary from very quiet to the sound of large machinery. A moderate degree of physical ability is associated with production positions, including the ability to lift 50lbs. Will be required to travel locally on a regular basis and may include driving a company cargo van. A high degree of working awareness is a must.
