STAGES St. Louis, a professional musical theatre company entering our 40th season, is seeking Production Staff to join our 2026 Season. The Season, which runs from May through October, consists of three large-scale musicals: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Guys and Dolls, and Come from Away. Start and End dates depend on each individual position. All seasonal positions are paid bi-weekly on Fridays. Although limited, housing is available on a first come first serve basis. WIG ARTISAN/MAINTENANCE HEAD
STAGES St. Louis is looking for a Wig Artisan/ Maintenance Head for our 2026 season. Although start and end dates are flexible, they are generally from May to September. The Wig Artisan/Maintenance Head works closely with the other members of the wig and wardrobe teams to assist performers with costume and wig changes.

1. Required skills
a. Confident working with wigs, hair, and makeup, working quickly and effectively
b. Affinity for working with people in close contact in high stress situations
c. Ability to do major and minor wig repairs and notes
d. Able to follow a complex track including many moving pieces
e. Preference will be given to people with previous experience building and/or dressing wigs
2. Required duties
a. Build wigs and hairpieces for productions under the direction of the Wig Shop Supervisor
b. Style wigs and hair under the direction of the Wig Shop Supervisor
c. Lead the shampooing and resetting of wigs as needed by AEA guidelines
d. Assist Audio staff with placement of microphones in wig pieces as needed
e. Attend all wig fittings as requested by the Wig Shop Supervisor
f. Assist with load in, set up, organization, and strike of wig spaces
g. Serve as backstage wig supervisor throughout technical rehearsals and as needed for previews
h. Serve as point person for wig dressers throughout the run of the show, facilitating communication about supply and repair needs
i. Perform any repairs or alterations
j. Assist in the strike and storage of each production

b. Attention to detail in all aspects
c. Commitment to performing all aspects of job with respect to design adherence as well as safety

4. Organizational
a. May be required to participate on show crew in the event of illness or injury
b. Read and adhere to the guidelines in the Employee Handbook
c. Other duties as assigned

Working conditions can include long days, nights and weekends, and some overtime. The noise levels will vary from very quiet to the sound of large machinery. A moderate degree of physical ability is associated with production positions, including the ability to lift 50lbs. Will be required to travel locally on a regular basis and may include driving a company cargo van. A high degree of working awareness is a must.
