STAGES St. Louis, a professional musical theatre company entering our 40th season, is seeking Production Staff to join our 2026 Season. The Season, which runs from May through October, consists of three large-scale musicals: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Guys and Dolls, and Come from Away. Start and End dates depend on each individual position. All seasonal positions are paid bi-weekly on Fridays. Although limited, housing is available on a first come first serve basis. ASSISTANT SCENIC CHARGE ARTIST
STAGES St. Louis is looking for an Assistant Scenic Charge Artist for our 2026 season. Start and end dates are flexible, generally from End -March to September. The Assistant Scenic Charge Artist works closely with the Scenic Charge Artist to supervise the Paint Shop.

1. Required skills
a. Assist with personnel management including teaching, supervising, and collaborating
b. Confident reading and interpreting renderings and painting samples to create workflows and make staffing assignments.
c. Previous experience painting drops, and hard scenery is required

2. Required duties
a. Paint scenic elements as directed by the Scenic Charge Artist.
b. Confident in painting and texture techniques to recreate the scenic designer's representation for all scenic units, drops, specialized prop pieces, and the theatre space as required
c. Assist in supervising daily work schedule of the paint staff in shop
d. In concert with the Scenic Charge Artist, manage workflow of scenic pieces as per construction schedule
e. Perform any repairs or alterations
f. Assist in the supervision and direct (sometimes hands-on) theatre load in
g. Assist in setup of paint shop and stock supplies

4. Organizational
a. Attend Production Meetings and other meetings as required when Scenic Charge Artist is unable to attend
b. Read and adhere to the guidelines in the Employee Handbook
c. Other duties as assigned

Working conditions may include nights and weekends, and some overtime as needed. Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders and stairs, and work at heights. A moderate degree of physical ability is associated with production positions, including the ability to lift and move up to 50lbs. Wearing and or using personal protective equipment is required. May be required to drive a company cargo van.
