Pay

35/hour

Queens College is looking for a welder with good carpentry skills for February and March. It+rsquo;ll work out to around 25 days on site. We+rsquo;ll be finishing and installing one show (which shouldn+rsquo;t take too long) and building and installing another larger show. You+rsquo;d be paid a flat fee of $6000, but the goal is to keep you at or above $35/hour. There is a little wiggle room to increase that number (by decreasing the days worked). Your title for both shows would be ATD, so you can pad your resume with that if you like.

This is going to be a mix of carpentry and structural MIG welding. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SOLID WELDING EXPERIENCE. As for woodworking, if you can build independently, I can work with you just fine. It+rsquo;ll mostly be building flats along with some more complex stuff that+rsquo;s still in the works. I should also add that this position provides no housing, so it's really intended for people who live in New York. That said, if you wanna find a place to stay and you fit the bill, please contact me!

It+rsquo;s 7 hour days 9-4:30 with a half hour(ish) for lunch, and normally pretty relaxed compared to pro shop work. There+rsquo;s also some schedule flexibility, so we can work around stuff you already have scheduled. The job requires a bachelors degree (it can be any major), since you+rsquo;d actually be a non-teaching adjunct instructor (you are not obligated at all to teach). This means more paperwork, but there are a few perks that come with it. You also need proof of citizenship or a work visa.
