The STAGES St. Louis Internship Programs are designed to train the next generation of theatre professionals in the skills necessary to become successful and integral parts of the theatre community. We combine practical hands-on experience with the opportunity to work with and learn from seasoned theatre professionals. While immersed in the professional world, our interns gain in-depth knowledge and experience in their chosen areas to become well-rounded theatre practitioners.
STAGES St. Louis is seeking Stage Management Interns for our two of our mainstage productions: GUYS AND DOLLS and COME FROM AWAY.
The Stage Management Intern works alongside the AEA Production Stage Manager and two Assistant Stage Managers. Interns will assist with pre-production paperwork during rehearsals, attend all scene shift rehearsals and tech, and become part of the run crew during the production. Applicants must have prior stage management experience of musicals at least on the academic level. Candidates must provide their own local housing and reliable transportation in St. Louis.
GUYS + DOLLS
Contract Dates: June 23 - August 23
-Rehearsal starts: June 30
-Tech: July 16 - July 24
-1st Performance: July 24
-Closing Performance: August 23
COME FROM AWAY
Contract Dates: August 18 - October 18
+bull; Rehearsal starts: August 25
+bull; Tech: Sept. 10 - Sept. 18
+bull; 1st Performance: September 18
+bull; Closing Performance: October 18
All Interns are paid Missouri Minimum Wage which is $15.00/hour.
Due to a Missouri State Statue exemption, seasonal employees are paid overtime at 1 1/2 times their rate after 48 hours worked in a given work week.
All summer positions are paid biweekly on Fridays.
Internship Requirements:
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
-Be able to provide local housing in St. Louis for the duration of your internship.
-Have a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
