The Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, TN - seeks an experienced Carpenter to join the fulltime staff. The Playhouse is the oldest regional theater in the state of TN just having celebrated our 60th season. We have two indoor spaces +ndash; a 462 seat Mainstage and a 231 seat Black Box, we are also fortunate enough to have an outdoor flex space. The Playhouse is a year around theater and this season will be producing 10 shows, 1 dance production, 1 TYA production, 5 mainstage concerts and 3 Speakeasy concerts in our black box from February - December.
Working under the Production Manager and Scene Shop Supervisor, Playhouse staff Carpenters are a member of the team responsible for the construction, assembly, maintenance, and disassembly/disposal of all scenic elements for the Playhouse's seasonal produced plays as well as the needs of presented events and outside projects. We work on a 6 day work week with Monday being the shops day off. Duties may require night and weekend work as assigned during tech weeks.

Job Responsibilities:
Construction of scenic elements for Playhouse produced shows.
Move scenery around shop floor and paint deck; Load and unload trucks with scenery and/or building materials.
Install scenery on stage; Complete scenic notes during the load-in/tech/preview process.
Load-in and strike scenery from stage.
Maintain overall organization and cleanliness of the Scene Shop.
Help maintain shop tools and equipment and track inventory and expendables.
Assist the stage operations staff with specific tasks as assigned.
Adhere to safe working practices and follow all Playhouse safety policies.

Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of wood working tools including powered drills, saws, and pneumatic fasteners.
Performs tasks in a neat, diligent, and skillful manner.
Understanding of and ability to do math with Imperial measurement units.
Able to lift, push, or maneuver up to 70 lbs. repeatedly, either alone or with a partner.
Able to work in a positive manner as a team with other full and part-time staff members.
Willingness to learn new methods of construction, skills, and equipment.

Additional Skills:
Strong skills in scenic carpentry.
Valid U.S. driver+rsquo;s license.
Ability to drive large trucks, including up to 26+rsquo; straight trucks.
Able to read, understand, and build from technical drawings.
Able to climb ladders, utilize lifts, and work in high places.

Pay Rate:
