The Cumberland County Playhouse, Crossville,TN is in search to fill our Scene Shop Supervisor(Full Time) position. The Playhouse is a year around professional theater company that is celebrating its 60th year in operation. The Cumberland County Playhouse owns its own building on 13 acres of lake front property, all of our production shops, rehearsal halls and performance spaces are all in the same building,the scene shop is directly connected to the performance spaces. Our performance spaces include the Mainstage (462 seat proscenium), Adventure Theater (231 seat black box), and an outdoor flex space. Position will start in the first of the year. We will be doing 10 shows (both plays and musicals), 1 dance performance,5 mainstage concerts and 3 Speakeasy concerts in our Black Box. They lead a team of technicians, ensuring safe and efficient shop operations while collaborating with designers and stage managers. Key responsibilities include instructing on safe tool usage, managing inventory, and contributing to the overall technical production process.

Skills and Qualifications: Technical Theatre Knowledge: A strong understanding of theatrical construction techniques, materials, and equipment is essential. Supervisory Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and guide a team of technicians.
Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary to facilitate collaboration and convey instructions.
Safety Awareness: Committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, as well as familiarity with various construction techniques and materials.Be able to lift 50lbs
Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret and utilize construction plans, renderings, and blueprints.
Problem-solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the production process.
