Ailey II, the acclaimed (non-union) second company to Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Stage Manager. This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of rehearsals and performances, ensuring that the artistic vision and technical execution of the production align seamlessly. This position is an in-person role with touring taking place domestically and internationally. The Stage Manager works alongside a Lighting + Sound Supervisor and a Wardrobe Supervisor, and reports to the Company Manager.
The ideal candidate must have prior experience in a similar position and a comprehensive knowledge of a performing arts organization.

Responsibilities
Rehearsal Period Duties:
+bull; Work closely with the Ailey II Artistic Director and Rehearsal Director to create, refine, and distribute the schedule for the Ailey II rehearsal period, including all daily schedules, programming, and casting sheets
+bull; Collaborate with the Ailey II Marketing Manager to create performance billing
+bull; Collaborate with the Ailey II Wardrobe Supervisor to integrate costume fittings into rehearsal schedules
+bull; Together with the Production team, create deadlines for yearly new works choreographers, designers, and collaborators
+bull; Create contact lists for dancers, choreographers, and designers
+bull; Collaborate with the Ailey II Lighting + Sound Supervisor to create production schedules for technical rehearsals and performances
+bull; Create or update current and accurate cue sheets for all ballets (repertory)
+bull; Maintain, update, and distribute schedules and all above mentioned paperwork throughout the season
+bull; Work with the Ailey II Marketing Manager to create internal deadlines for programming, casting, and billing and communicate deadlines to the Ailey II artistic and production teams to ensure on time submission of all materials
+bull; Reserve rehearsal and studio space
+bull; Prepare studios during rehearsal periods, including placing spike marks, maintaining and storing rehearsal props, facilitating musician needs, and supporting the audio + video resources used by the Ailey II Artistic Director and Rehearsal Director
+bull; Work with the Ailey II Artistic Director and Rehearsal Director to organize the logistics and run yearly auditions
+bull; Maintain repertory archives in collaboration with the Ailey II artistic and production teams
+bull; Maintain integrity of the design elements within the repertory
Performance Duties:
+bull; Distribute all necessary paperwork, including technical/production schedules, run times, and local crew calls
+bull; Post directional and informational signage in venues, maintain a callboard, and communicate directional + technical information about each performance venue to the company
+bull; Coordinate and supervise load-in/load-out and truck pack/unpack with the Ailey II production team
+bull; Supervise and manage the installation and maintenance of marley floor
+bull; Supervise the maintenance and storage of props and scenic elements
+bull; When needed, supervise the placement and direction of lights, scenery, sound, and props as directed
+bull; In conjunction with the Ailey II production team, supervise technical calls (load-in, load-out, work notes)
+bull; Facilitate technical rehearsals and collaborate with the Ailey II artistic and production teams to prioritize and balance the overall needs of the production
+bull; In collaboration with local production and local house management, supervise the entire run of show, including management of the local crew and Ailey II personnel, calling cues, and maintaining the schedule
+bull; During the performance, be responsible for leading the response to unexpected show stop situations (i.e. technical issues, environmental concerns, emergency situations)
+bull; Create and archive accurate venue and performance reports
+bull; Assist company management with directing company movement while traveling including but not limited to, throughout airports, during ground transportation, and during hotel check-in
+bull; Work with management to ensure a safe and secure performance environment
Minimum Qualifications:
+bull; Bachelor+rsquo;s degree in stage management or production related field
+bull; Minimum of three years in a similar position, including touring dance, live theater, concerts, and/or production experience
+bull; Experience working in small work group environments
+bull; Prior supervisory experience
+bull; Experience working with stagehands in union and non-union environments
+bull; Knowledge of dance vocabulary
+bull; Knowledge of music vocabulary, strong sense of rhythm, and ability to count in time
+bull; Functional competencies in the use and operation of production lighting and sound equipment
+bull; Fluency in Microsoft Office
+bull; Familiarity with QLab, basic audio, and video editing
+bull; Ability and willingness to lift, push, and pull heavy road cases and be an active participant in all aspects of load-in/load-out
+bull; Outstanding organizational and time management skills and meticulous attention to detail
+bull; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
+bull; Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships within multicultural and diverse environments
+bull; Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work graciously in a fast-paced environment
+bull; Ability to work with diplomacy and tact and remain calm under pressure

Compensation
$1,500 per week +ndash; The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.
