Frost Productions is seeking an experienced Scenic Shop Supervisor based in New Jersey or New York to oversee the fabrication, construction, and finishing of custom scenic elements, exhibits, cabinetry, and props in our carpentry shop at our warehouse, located in Moonachie, New Jersey. This a full-time position with benefits. The Scenic Shop Supervisor will translate design concepts into buildable plans and lead the production process from technical drawings through final installation. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical expertise with team management.

Compensation: $30 - $40 per hour to start, commensurate with experience.

Position Responsibilities:

Design + Technical Drafting
- Convert design concepts into detailed shop drawings using Vectorworks.
- Interpret drawings, renderings, and thumbnails with creative problem solving.

Shop Management + Operations
- Oversee all construction and finishing operations in our carpentry shop, located in New Jersey.
- Organize workflow and schedule staff to maximize productivity and meet tight deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant work environment.
- Generate material and hardware orders based on construction drawings.

Fabrication + Production
- Perform hands-on construction in wood, metal, acrylic, and plastic laminates.
- Operate and maintain FDM-style 3D printers for custom component fabrication.
- Execute painting, finishing, and graphics application.
- Handle packaging and crating of finished materials for transport.
- Support general operations with fabrication and repair of cases and crates.

Installation + Field Work
- Install and strike materials on-site, when required.
- Work flexible hours including overnights and weekends, as needed.

Position Requirements:

- 8+ years of experience in scenic fabrication, exhibit building or cabinetry.
- Strong knowledge of scenic arts, cabinetry and exhibit fabrication.
- Experience with practical and theatrical finishing techniques.
- Comfortable operating heavy machinery, power tools and 3D printing equipment.
- Ability to manage projects from concept to completion with minimal direction.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Punctuality, professionalism, and a positive, collaborative attitude when working with clients and co-workers.

Preferred Qualifications:

- General stagecraft experience or familiarity with entertainment lighting, audio and video equipment.
- Valid driver's license and Experience driving 24' box trucks (CDL not required).
