About Pace Live
Pace Live is an international theatrical producer and promoter, featured as one of Pollstar+rsquo;s Top 100 Promoters Worldwide. From Australia to the United States, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand, the company produces touring theatre, dance, and live entertainment +mdash; including the acclaimed Irish dance phenomenon A Taste of Ireland, now performing 100+ndash;150 shows annually across North America.
As the company expands its U.S. touring operations, Pace Live is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Production Manager to lead the technical and production delivery of its live touring productions.
This role blends remote pre-production and advancing with hands-on touring leadership during key legs of the tour. It is ideally suited to someone with strong technical knowledge, touring experience, and the ability to manage production autonomously while collaborating with an international team.

The Role
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of technical production, logistics, and crew coordination for A Taste of Ireland and other Pace Live shows.
They will manage technical advances, crew recruitment, scheduling, budgeting, and tour logistics while ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the production on the road.
This role requires someone with both technical expertise and strong leadership +mdash; a person who can handle lighting files one day, troubleshoot a sound rig the next, and negotiate labour calls with a venue the day after.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Advances + Pre-Production
Lead and execute all technical advances for U.S. venues, confirming stage dimensions, rigging, power, audio, lighting, projection, freight, and hospitality requirements.

Prepare and distribute technical riders, cue sheets, call sheets, lighting plots, QLab files, and all associated show documentation.

Oversee and maintain the Company Show Bible, ensuring all details +mdash; from contacts and production notes to cue information +mdash; are accurate and up to date.

Manage preparation and updating of QLab, lighting, and audio show files, including backups for touring use.

Collaborate with the creative and technical team on show redesigns or technical upgrades (e.g., lighting show updates, equipment replacements).

Create and maintain production schedules, deadlines, and workflow timelines across all departments.

Attend and contribute to pre-production and production meetings with producers, technical coordinators, and venue staff (virtually or in-person).

Assist with the implementation of crew training and rehearsals prior to tour commencement.

Touring Logistics + Operations
Coordinate bump-ins, load-ins, load-outs, and pack-downs across all departments, ensuring efficient setups within schedule and budget.

Oversee all freight logistics, including vehicle pickups, drop-offs, and coordination with hire companies.

Access and manage the company+rsquo;s storage facility, conducting regular gear inventories, equipment maintenance, and consumable management (tape, lamps, batteries, fluids, etc.).

Oversee prop and costume logistics, ensuring delivery, maintenance, and storage requirements are met.

Troubleshoot and support technical systems across lighting, sound, vision, and staging, ensuring operational continuity on tour.

Ensure that all touring gear is safe, tested, and compliant with relevant standards.

Liaise directly with venues, stage crews, and front-of-house managers to ensure the company+rsquo;s production standards are upheld.

Crew + Personnel Management
Recruit, brief, and manage touring and local technical staff (Stage Manager, LX, Audio, Wardrobe, Drivers, etc.).

Facilitate pre-tour briefings and ongoing communication to ensure clarity in roles, responsibilities, and expectations.

Manage scheduling, travel, and accommodation logistics for touring personnel.

Oversee union and non-union labour relations, ensuring compliance with applicable venue, crew, and safety requirements.

Maintain a positive, solutions-driven working culture both on and off tour.

Budgeting, Reporting + Administration
Develop and monitor production budgets, ensuring efficiency across logistics, freight, and staffing.

Track and report all technical and production expenses, submitting updates to producers.

Collaborate with company administration to manage freight, travel, and consumable costs.

Maintain and update touring inventory lists, post-tour reports, and maintenance records.

Contribute to post-production checklists, debriefs, and operational improvements for future tours.

Leadership + Communication
Act as a key link between producers, creatives, and technical departments.

Provide consistent strategic, financial, and technical leadership across U.S. touring operations.

Represent Pace Live professionally in all communications with venues, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Uphold safety, efficiency, and artistic quality at every stage of the touring process.

About You
You+rsquo;re a technically fluent, solutions-oriented professional who thrives in live touring environments. You know how to make a touring show run smoothly +mdash; from the warehouse to the stage +mdash; and you can calmly manage competing priorities without losing your sense of humour.
You bring:
Minimum 5 years+rsquo; experience in theatrical or live performance production management or technical direction.

Solid knowledge of touring theatre, including logistics, budgets, and interstate scheduling.

Strong working understanding of lighting, audio, video, and stage systems, including QLab.

Proven ability to prepare, test, and manage show files across technical platforms.

Experience recruiting and managing crew in both union and non-union environments.

Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve issues across multiple disciplines.

Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Flexibility to travel as needed (approx. 3+ndash;5 days per month, variable).

International touring or cross-border production experience is an advantage but not required.
