The Sylvia and Danny Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (NYC) is looking for overhire stagehands. Applicants should possess a theatrical background in carpentry, electrics, audio, and/or video. Most of the calls have overhire staff working in multiple disciplines throughout the day (ie. unloading goods/props/electrics, etc. then moving on to laying floor and hanging lights or prepping mics/projection, etc.) so a well-rounded background is ideal.
This is an IATSE Local One venue. You do not need to currently be a union member in order to apply.
Examples of events at the Kaye: dance, business meetings, graduations, concerts, video shoots, college meetings, etc. Many non-professional groups book the Kaye Playhouse, so a sense of humor and even-temper is necessary.
Please note any special skills (ie. followspot op, audio engineer, light board programmer/op, projectionist) on your resume.
