Pay

$4355 for contract bimonthly

This position is seasonal full time with on-site residency required. Valid drivers license and personal vehicle strongly encouraged as we work in multiple venues.

Responsible for assisting the AEA stage managers with all of their responsibilities; assist with clerical organization, attend production meetings +ndash; take notes as assigned; tape out the ground plan; pull rehearsal props and furniture; ensure rehearsal spaces and clean and set up before each rehearsal; be on book; take line notes; take blocking; produce daily calls; contact cast and crew as needed; serve as deck boss during tech rehearsals and performances; ensure the performance space is clean and set up correctly before each performance; assist with set and/or costume changes as needed; have a complete understanding of the placement and movement of actors, scenic pieces and props; assist in maintenance of the artistic integrity and intention of the play, consistent and sensitive relationship to the live performance, and setting the ethical and moral +ldquo;tone+rdquo; for the performance company; maintain stock of rehearsal/performance supplies and materials; monitor the first aid kits and restock and needed; advocate for backstage morale and consistency in all aspects of the production; be prepared to cover for the stage manager in the event of an emergency; train run crew upon request; assist with all work space cleanup and security; assist with cleaning, strike and restoration of all rehearsal and performance spaces, and all stage management work areas; assist with housing check-in and check-out if needed; assist with ground transportation of company members upon request of company management.

Qualifications:
Be currently enrolled in a university stage management or theatre program. Documented stage management experience. Strong organization skills. Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality. Have Excellent communication skills both written, and oral. A positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. A calm confident presence during chaotic production periods. Ability to work with a team of people toward a common purpose. Pleasant personality and ability to relate well with people of all ages. Willingness to meet professional standards and develop professional experience in commercial and/or regional professional theatre. Ability to spot and solve problems quickly. Run crew experience. Willingness to learn and work in ways that may be different than you are used to. Ability to adapt quickly to meet the needs of the company and company members.
