Position title: Draper/First Hand and Wardrobe Crew
Responsibilities: Work with the Costume Designer and the Costume Shop Management team to facilitate costumes for A Christmas Carol.
Pre-Production:
The Draper/First Hand is responsible for the accurate and timely construction and alterations of all costume elements as assigned.
Understand construction methods and material choices for assigned projects
Cut all fabric based on created patterns, as needed.
Assist in Setting up and attending fittings as requested.
Assist in Supervising crew of Stitchers/Shop Apprentice
Assist with the alterations and packing of all costume items for load in/out from the theatre.
Assist with the restoration and repacking of rental costume items for return.
During the Run:
Assist with wardrobe during the run of the production.
Assisting performers with costume changes
Assist with Costume maintenance and repairs
Skills:
Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
Prior backstage/theatrical wardrobe related experience
Knowledge and experience in performer fittings and alterations
Demonstrated Sewing Skills
Evidence of strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
Able to stand for long periods of time
Able to perform during high pressure, quick-change situations
Valid Driver+rsquo;s License
