The Public Theater is seeking knowledgeable and experienced over-hire WARDROBE SUPERVISORS and DRESSERS for its costume shop for the Fall 2025 Season.



This position is covered under an IATSE collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and requires membership or a willingness to join IATSE Local 764.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assisting actors with costume changes

Loading in and out of the wardrobe + dressing rooms

Developing and updating the costumes list and track paperwork

Setting up the backstage change areas

Coordinating the care and maintenance of all costume pieces

Other duties as assigned


SKILLS, EXPERIENCES, and QUALIFICATIONS:

Member in good standing with Local 764 or willingness to join

Strong communication and time management skills

Ability to manage working relationships with various personalities

Self-motivated, team-oriented, and highly collaborative work style


Compensation:

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between The Public Theater, IATSE and Local 764.

Compensation rates are subject to the applicable CBA and may be adjusted to meet CBA requirements.

Any benefits will be administered in accordance with the applicable CBA and The Public Theater policies.


This is a non-exempt position, according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

We are currently looking for dressers with availability between the months of October through the end of November, but candidates available after those dates should still apply if they are interested in future productions.

Dressers are hired on a show-by-show basis.
