Position Summary
The mix engineer for As You Like It will work closely with the sound designer, music director, audio/video supervisor, and mic tech (A2). During the run of the show, they will oversee the front of house mix and maintain the levels set during tech and previews. They will also work with A2 on trouble-shooting microphones as needed.
Calls are a 4-hour minimum, with a 32 hour work week guaranteed during performances
Non-exempt - over time after 40 hours

Important dates:
First tech - 10/22/25
Opening - 11/7/25
Contracted Closing - 12/21/25

Responsibilities
Programming the console (Sound Craft Vi1000) for the production, mix live performances, EQ as needed, maintain levels set during tech and previews, work with A2 to check and maintain microphones pre-show, training additional mix engineer to take over as needed, and working with the music director and band to provide monitors as needed.

Qualifications + Key Competencies
Familiar and comfortable with digital consoles (Writers Theatre has a Sound Craft Vi1000), comfortable live and line mixing. Comfortable working with upwards of 60 inputs, both wired and wireless.
Able to think and troubleshoot quickly in a stressful environment. Familiar with digital signal processing and programs such as Dante, Wireless Workbench, and D+B Audio.
