Craterian Performances Company (CPC), the nonprofit owner/operator of the 750 seat Craterian Theater in Medford, Oregon, seeks an A-1 Audio Engineer to join its small-but-mighty fulltime staff.

The Craterian is a road and rental house presenting 20 +ndash; 30 national / international tours of various genres and scale annually, hosting an equal number of local and touring rentals, and producing four in-house musicals with its Teen Musical Theater of Oregon (TMTO).

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Audio Engineer at Craterian Performances is responsible for the expert execution of production audio needs, serving as designer and engineer for all events when not otherwise provided by the producing company, and for the maintenance, enhancement and operation of the Craterian+rsquo;s sound system and inventory.

This critical role coordinates with external designers, directors, musical directors, artists, and musicians in the fulfillment of audio production needs, and is responsible for the configuration of the sound system, including the placement and designation of microphones, monitors, loudspeakers, control hardware, production specific effects and musician support. Additionally, the Audio Engineer works closely with the Lighting Director and Event Director to support non-production use of Craterian facilities and rehearsal spaces for special events, rentals, development events, and meetings.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES:
+bull; Setup, operate and strike equipment before, during, and after events
+bull; Program and live mix FOH and / or monitors for technical rehearsal and performances of theatrical, musical, concert, and public address events
+bull; Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair wireless systems, outboard processors, speakers, playback support systems, and any audio related gear
+bull; Hire and supervise over-hire audio crew for each production, as necessary; approve related payroll
+bull; Assist with load-ins and strikes and lend a hand in all other aspects of production when audio setup is complete.
+bull; Manage and maintain wired and wireless crew communication systems (Clear-Com / Radios) for rehearsals and performances
+bull; Advance audio requirements for incoming events with tour managers
+bull; Secure backline rentals to meet artist rider requirements, and ensure delivery and setup to meet artist schedules
+bull; Attend production and staff meetings and events
+bull; Create and maintain sound consumable and equipment inventories
+bull; Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sound booth and offices, along with common production areas
+bull; Serve as resident sound designer and engineer for TMTO productions, as well as special events, and other projects as assigned
+bull; Maintain a safe working environment based on OSHA standards.
+bull; Researche software updates, innovative technology and new equipment, and recommend updates accordingly
+bull; In charge of QLAB programming for all events and productions, as needed
+bull; Collaborate with the Technical Director and Lighting Director to solve problems that bridge departments
+bull; Perform all work with a direct reflection of the mission and values of Craterian Performances

REQUIRES EXPERTISE IN THE FOLLOWING:
+bull; Comprehensive knowledge of sound design and execution
+bull; Fluent programming and mixing skill on digital and analog consoles (FOH console is Soundcraft Vi4; monitor console is Yamaha PM5d)
+bull; In-depth understanding of gain structure, signal flow and patching, EQ, Compression, and other audio signal processing concepts
+bull; Knowledge of Shure wireless microphones and systems, and QLAB
+bull; Knowledge of current audio equipment standards (maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting)
+bull; Ability to interpret technical documents including technical riders, signal flow diagrams, input lists, stage plots, run-of-show, cue lists, etc.
+bull; Comprehensive understanding of audio-related rigging gear including motors, hoists, crank lifts, truss, span sets, shackles, beam clamps, mega-claws, etc. and their practical application
+bull; Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and time-management skills
+bull; Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
+bull; Punctuality, professionalism, and a positive collaborative attitude when working with clients and co-workers
+bull; Ability to work in a high-stress environment and demonstrate initiative

OTHER DUTIES
Assist other theater staff / departments as needed / required. Become acquainted with and enforce all CPC policies and procedures, and the use and operation of all facility systems related to areas of responsibility; such other responsibilities, duties or acts as are or may be necessary to fulfill the overall purpose of the job.

HOURS
Hours are as required to fulfill the responsibilities of this position; must be available to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS
Besides possessing the necessary skill, training and / or experience to perform the described responsibilities and duties, must be able to lift 50 pounds, sit and / or stand for long periods of time, reach and bend, climb stairs and ladders on a regular basis; work in a lift, and work from a height of 50 feet; must also be able to remain calm, polite and positive with customers and colleagues in high stress environment and situations. Willingness and ability to adapt to a very dynamic and demanding schedule
