RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under supervision of the Production Manager, facilitate sourcing, construction, and management of all props needed for each production.
- Responsible for the organization, adjustment, repair and/or replacement of props throughout the rehearsal period up to and including the run of the Play(s).
- Attend rehearsals (as needed) and help facilitate backstage needs with Stage Management (to include presets, run of show tracking, etc.).
- Work with Production Manager and Stage Management Team to support running needs for the production (e.g., fixes, consumables, etc.).
- For all rehearsals, provide +lsquo;stand in+rsquo; items until such time as actual items are available.
- Work backstage during performances, including supervising presets, run-of-show execution, post-show reset, cleaning, and repairs.
- Ensure all props are safe for use by actors and crew, adhering to relevant safety regulations.
- Be available for work calls and production meetings, as needed.
Handle pick ups and deliveries as required.
- Be available immediately following the closing performances to begin sorting all props as directed by the Production Manager.
- Responsible for overseeing and/or arranging the return of any rented or borrowed props after closing.
- Maintain the inventory, cataloguing, and storage of new and existing Company props.
MORE INFORMATION:
- This is a position where nights, weekends, early mornings are required from time to time (particularly while in load in, load out, tech rehearsals, and production).
- Reports directly to the Production Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience sourcing, creating, maintaining and repairing theatrical props.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Self-starter with a collaborative approach and positive attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Valid driver+rsquo;s license required; position includes picking up and dropping off rental packages. Experience driving a box truck is preferred.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary: $750/week
Pay Schedule: Weekly (one-week lag)
