Assistant Carpenter (Touring)

Reports To: Head Carpenter

Show: Miracle on 34th St

Summary:
The Assistant Carpenter supports the installation, maintenance, and strike of scenic elements on tour. Working under the Head Carpenter, this role helps ensure efficient, safe, and consistent show setups across multiple venues.

Responsibilities:

Assist with scenic load-in, setup, strike, and truck pack in each city.

Work with local crews under the direction of the Head Carpenter.

Perform repairs and upkeep of scenic elements during the run.

Operate tools and equipment safely.

Maintain organized workspaces backstage and in trucks.

Qualifications:

Touring or regional theatre carpentry experience preferred.

Strong teamwork and adaptability in changing venues.

Familiarity with hand and power tools.

Willingness to learn and follow direction.

Stamina for travel and long hours.

Performances:

November 28+ndash;30 +mdash; New Haven, CT

December 3+ndash;7 +mdash; Potential show (TBD)

December 8+ndash;14 +mdash; Bethlehem, PA

December 16+ndash;18 +mdash; Detroit, MI

December 21+ndash;22 +mdash; Wilmington, DE

December 26+ndash;28 +mdash; Tyson, VA

December 29+ndash;January 4 +mdash; Syracuse, NY

Compensation: $800+ndash;$1,000/week DOE + $45/day per diem

Housing and travel provided.

This tour is expected to expand and rerun next year, offering potential year-over-year employment opportunities.
