Overview:
The Level 3 Costume Technician is an advanced-level role responsible for executing complex costume builds, character costume builds and alterations with a high degree of technical skill and efficiency. The Costume Technician 3 is expected to work independently and within a team on assigned projects, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure that all costume elements are completed accurately, on time, and in line with design specifications. This position requires mastery in a wide range of costume construction techniques, problem-solving ability, and strong communication skills.
Reporting Structure:
The Costume Technician 3 will report directly to the Costume Studio Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
+bull; Construct costumes and character costumes using both industrial and domestic sewing machines to a Mastery Level of quality.
+bull; Advanced pattern modifications, high accuracy in cutting of fabrics and materials.
+bull; Achieve deadlines by working in both team and individual settings Independently
+bull; Work with and around chemicals such as contact cement, epoxies, super glue, and fabric dyes.
+bull; Proper documentation of all aspects of the build process. Ensuring all steps of the process are photographed and catalogued.
+bull; Adhere to company safety regulations, maintains a safe, healthy, and clean work /shop environment.
+bull; Complete tasks at a consistent high quality within timelines set by supervisor.
+bull; Performs other duties as assigned.
+bull; Ability to work under pressure to meet hard deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills:
+bull; Bachelor's degree in Theater, Costume Design, or a related field (or 4+ years of equivalent experience).
+bull; Proven experience in costume and character costume construction or a similar role in theatrical, theme park, cruise line or similar productions.
+bull; Mastery of complex sewing skills and construction techniques
+bull; Mastery of industrial and domestic sewing machines.
+bull; Master in hand sewing techniques.
+bull; Mastery of fittings and alterations
+bull; Understanding of tailoring of menswear
+bull; Advanced experience in dye work, color matching
+bull; Advanced experience working with furs and fleeces
+bull; Basic draping or pattern making, a plus
+bull; Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
+bull; Flexibility and adaptability based on production requirements.
+bull; High attention to detail and quality control
+bull; Effective in time management
+bull; High manual dexterity and hand eye coordination
+bull; Strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal
+bull; Ability to travel for onsite installs
Physical Requirements/Environment:
+bull; Moderate lifting or carrying 26 +ndash; 50 lbs.
+bull; Intermittently sitting, standing, and stooping.
+bull; Working at heights, ability to climb ladders and stairs
+bull; Requires repeated reaching by extending hand(s) and/or arm(s) in any direction.
+bull; Using equipment requiring high dexterity.
Pay and Benefit Structure:
+bull; USD Hourly $22 to $24 per hour
+bull; Payroll will be bi-weekly in arrears.
+bull; All Full-time hourly Team Members are allotted 5 days of PTO per year, plus designated company holidays, paid. If a holiday falls on a production-related workday or weekend, then an alternate date will be selected.
