Rate: $19.00 per hour, time and a half over 40 hours

General Statement of Job Function: The Overhire Electrician assists the Lighting Supervisor and Head Electrician in the safe, efficient and accurate implementation and maintenance of assigned lighting designs.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the hang, rigging, cabling, focus, and patch of assigned light plots including conventional fixtures, LED fixtures, intelligent fixtures, and practicals.
- Attend and participate in all crew calls, and technical notes as assigned.
- Assist Lighting Supervisor in load-in and strike of all lighting elements.
- Help with wiring practicals, setting up special effects, and other assigned electrical projects.
- Assist Head Electrician, Lighting Supervisor, and Stage Management with installing and maintaining the cue light system.
- Assist in the maintenance, management, and troubleshooting of electric equipment, storage spaces, and tools.
- Maintain a clean, safe, respectful, and collaborative work environment.

Required Qualifications + Skills: Experience in theatrical lighting; Ability to lift 50 lbs; Able to repeatedly climb four flights of stairs while carrying 40 pounds; Adequate knowledge of current lighting equipment; Manual dexterity and an aptitude for working with electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems and equipment; Ability to work within tight deadlines; Must be comfortable with ladders and grid work (30 feet high); Able to stand for long durations of time during crew calls and tech rehearsals; Able to work long hours during heavy load-in and tech periods; Availability nights and weekends
Preferred Qualifications + Skills: Strong technical and organizational skills; Experience with LED tape wiring and installation; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to troubleshoot problems in a calm and efficient manner under pressure; Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide variety of coworkers at different levels of skill and knowledge; Knowledge of safe rigging practices including dead hung electrics, tail downs, and booms; Valid driver's license with safe driving record.
