STAFFING NOTICE
Deck Hand (Theater)
A Nightmare on Strip Street, the new hilarious and sexy parody of Hollywood+rsquo;s most famous horror and slasher movies, from the producers + director of the hit show The Empire Strips Back, is coming to San Francisco on October 2nd. NX5 Theatrical is now accepting submissions for an experienced Wardrobe Supervisor.
SALARY
$1,200 a week based on a 40 hour work week
EMPLOYMENT LOCATION
The Great Star Theater
RELEVANT DATES
First day of employment: September 30th
Tech: September 30th-October 2nd
Opening Night: October 2nd
Closing Night: November 2nd
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibilities of a Deck Hand includes the following:
Fulfillment of any and all tasks delegated as part of the run track for deck crew, including pre and post show tasks. This includes maintaining scenery, prop or costume placement, manipulating scenery, and operation of puppets.
Management of backstage supplies, props, and scenery. This includes upkeep of inventory lists and continual organization of backstage supplies.
Maintenance and repair of props, scenery, and backstage supplies under the guidance of the Stage Manager and Technical Supervisor.
The nature of the show requires candidates who are comfortable with working in darkened environments. Applicants must be able to stoop, kneel or crouch, and ascend and descend stairs multiple times per show.
All team members must be respectful of others at all times, be safety conscious, and demonstrate a focus on team work and collaboration. Due to the sensitive nature of this production, (which includes several topless acts,) we demand a high level of professional conduct.
Please note: Water-based haze and strobing lighting effects are used during rehearsals, performances, and work calls.
