Wardrobe Technicians (various roles):

Talmi Entertainment / Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet seeks skilled Wardrobe Technicians for national Nutcracker ballet tour. Wardrobe Technician will work on a team of three, and will be responsible for all elements of costuming while on tour.
We are looking to fill two positions:
Adult wardrobe lead:
Responsible for all our professional cast costumes. Lead team in repairs of adult costumes as needed. Make sure laundry is completed. Assign pro-cast dressing rooms. During show- assign + participate in adult quick changes as needed. LEAD will be asked to engage in pre tour training.

Wardrobe Technician:
Provide support to both adult wardrobe dept. and children's wardrobe dept. Assist during children's fittings by fitting roles independently (so that 2 roles can be fit at the same time). Once last children are being fit, return to adult wardrobe land to assist adult wardrobe lead. During show run, wardrobe technician's priority is the professional cast.

All Wardrobe Technicians will be responsible for:
Loading in (4hrs) and out (2 hrs) approximately 200 costumes and associated department equipment (11 gondolas)
Maintaining and repairing costumes as needed throughout the run
Participate in fittings and repairs pre tour and during tour
Load in the children's dressing room.
Maintain positive experience for school directors and children.
Do all repairs on children's costumes.
Assist wardrobe team members in their duties as described in the role breakdown
Do tasks as assigned by the adult wardrobe lead.
During show assist all children's quick changes and help with professional cast as needed.
Provide support to both adult wardrobe dept. and children's wardrobe dept
Proactively assist in all repairs on any costume on the show stage left or stage right
Show Track as needed
Running performances of Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet in a variety of performing arts centers to include assistance with quick changes
Requirements:
Fittings and alteration experience
Flexibility and Teamwork

Professional touring ballet company experience preferred or equivalent training/experience. Must have excellent sewing, stitching and altering skills. Duties include altering and repairing men+rsquo;s and women+rsquo;s costumes ranging in complexity from simple garments to multi-piece, extremely delicate costumes. Knowledge of classical and romantic tutus is required. Wardrobe is responsible for issuing + collecting costumes as needed, assisting with quick changes, spot cleaning, launder/hand washing and repairs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive / Cloud software required.
Crew will travel overnight from one city to the next on an industry standard 12 bunk sleeper coach. The tour will travel with 1 semi truck and 1 seated coach for the cast. The Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet tour is a challenging and rewarding engagement, lasting from ASAP through December 31. The tour will load in, perform, and load out of a new city every day.
Starting weekly salary, including per diem. $1200-$1600/ week. Rate is ultimately dependent on an individual candidates skills and experience.
