PRIMARY ROLE
Scenic Carpenters will work with a team to build scenery and d+eacute;cor using theatrical construction skills, hand and stationary tools, and work from provided build drawings. Carpenters who thrive at 3dx possess an ability to problem solve, display an excellent work ethic, team mentality, a willingness to ask questions and learn new skills, show personal accountability, and enjoy working in this field.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
-Build scenic elements using a variety of tools and materials
-Read and follow instructions on build drawings
-Operate tools and machinery in a safe and efficient manner
-Create and maintain a clean and safe work area
-Multi-task and prioritize objectives
-Travel to install, or lead installation teams on event-sites (less than 25%)
QUALIFICATIONS
-Prior experience with theatrical and/or display building practices
-Prior experience in a scene shop or equivalent
-Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history
-High school diploma or equivalent
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
-Proficiency with standard shop tools such as drills, saws, sanders, grinders, measuring tools etc.
-Proficiency in GMAW or GTAW welding practices is a plus
-Proficiency in the use of MS Office is a plus
GENERAL PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
-Position reports to the Chief Operating Officer
-Standing and walking on concrete
-Climbing, squatting, reaching, grasping, and carrying activities
-Use of hands and fingers
-Ability to lift 50+ pounds unassisted
-Ability to withstand a shop environment with minimal climate control and moderate noise levels
-Occasional outdoor work
