Lighting Supervisor: Ignite the Stage at Olney Theatre Center!
Are you a visionary lighting professional ready to lead the charge in a dynamic and critically acclaimed regional theater? Olney Theatre Center, a vibrant artistic hub just north of Washington, D.C., is searching for a passionate and skilled Lighting Supervisor to join our dedicated Production team. This is a thrilling opportunity to shape the visual landscape of our productions across our four distinct venues+mdash;including three indoor spaces and a unique outdoor stage+mdash;working alongside nationally recognized designers and artists.
At Olney Theatre Center, we don't just produce shows; we cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and artistically rigorous environment. We present a robust season of productions along with a variety of curated events. You'll be instrumental in realizing the artistic vision for each production, ensuring every light cue contributes to an unforgettable experience for our diverse DMV audiences.

What You'll Do
As a Department Head reporting directly to the Director of Production, you'll be at the helm of our Electrics Department, managing a wide array of responsibilities:
Lead with Vision: Collaborate closely with acclaimed Lighting Designers and Directors to bring their artistic concepts to life for each production.
Manage + Mentor: Oversee our Associate Lighting Supervisor and lead the scheduling and supervision of all electrics hang, focus, and strike events, including staffing overhire crews. You'll also play a crucial role in recruiting, training, and mentoring our annual Electrics Apprentice, guiding them through their capstone project and fostering their growth.
Maintain Excellence: Expertly manage and maintain OTC's extensive lighting equipment inventory across all four performance spaces.
Strategic Planning: Work hand-in-hand with the Production Office to effectively manage show and annual budgets, and collaborate with the Director of Production to identify and implement long and short-term department improvements.
Cultivate Relationships: Build and nurture rental and loan relationships with other theaters and organizations in the area.
Team Collaboration: Foster a spirit of cooperation with all Production Departments, ensuring seamless schedules, shared resources, and a collective pursuit of exceptional theater.
Hands-On Leadership: Plan and supervise every stage from hang and focus to tech, run, and strike. You'll also attend rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and previews as needed.
Empower Your Team: Determine duty allocations and actively promote skill advancement for your electrics crew, including hiring and overseeing freelance labor to meet deadlines.

What We're Looking For
We're seeking a proactive and skilled leader who is deeply invested in our mission and values:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in theatrical lighting, demonstrating advanced technical proficiency, with a focus on intelligent lighting.
Expert-level knowledge of lighting software, including Vectorworks, LightWright, and ETC EOS family consoles.
Ability to solder and wire effectively.
Exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record as a collaborative team player.
Strong organizational abilities, including the capacity to catalog multiple inventories, manage budgets effectively, and create/adhere to complex schedules.
A solid understanding of safe theater practices, with comfort working at heights and in small spaces.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Suite.
Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and work a full-time schedule that includes occasional evenings and weekends.
A deep commitment to Olney Theatre Center+rsquo;s Mission, Vision, and Values
