Seeking highly experienced theatrical Head Carpenter/Production Manager for internationally-renowned children's entertainment tour.

Candidates must possess all necessary skills customarily rendered with each role and have experience executing first-class musical stage performances to an equivalent calibre of a Broadway, West End or pop music production. Candidates must have a valid passport and no issues traveling to Canada.

Tour is 2 tour bus, 1 truck production. Compensation is dependent on experience and role and is exclusive of per diems, travel and accommodation. Los Angeles based candidates preferred, but not limited to.

Duties:

The Employee shall perform all Services customarily rendered by the Head Carpenter/Production Manager of a first-class musical stage play (of the same quality and calibre as a Broadway/West End musical). Without limitation of the following,

Employee's duties shall include:

-Attendance at rehearsals as required assisting with movement of set and props.

- Liaise with the TD and Company Manager / Tour Manager regarding the performance venue prior to arrival to confirm technical requirements, staff requirements, and ensure the venue has any pre-rigging or other technical requirements completed prior to arrival.

- Direct the activities of the touring and local mechanists and local show crew.

- Liaise with venue technical managers as required ensuring all requirements are met, whilst presenting a professional and courteous image of the production.

- Manage the load in and load out process, managing crew to ensure all technical requirements of the production are met in a timely manner and to maximise efficiency and minimise additional expenditure.

- Manage the day-to-day production values of the show and be actively involved in the running of each performance,including the movement of scenery, costumes and props.

- Manage contingency plans for the set and running of the show as required and implement at need

- Ensure all documentation for the Production, including technical plots and running sheets are in place and kept
updated.

- Manage and maintain the touring set, props + equipment - identifying any maintenance or repair issues and
rectifying these, reporting to tour producer any issues requiring further or serious attention.

- Working with the Company Manager and Stage Manager to actively manage all aspects of the production, including. cast and crew backstage during performance; actively overseeing and participating in set and prop movements; puppetry; care for the cast and costumes during performances.

- Adherence to Venue health and safety requirements to support the safety of Cast, Crew and Audience in every
circumstance in every venue.

- Actively participate in matters and activities relating to Health and Safety including compliance with relevant
legislation, regulations and codes of Practice.

- To personally report to the producer any issues that need further input.

- Such other services as are customarily provided by the Head carp in relation to the tour of a first-class musical
production.

Required Skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in theatrical scenography and rigging on similar large-scale productions

- Previous experience leading and managing a team of crew and technicians

- Practical knowledge on the operation of various stage machinery and construction hand tools

- Capable to carry out manual handling tasks and be able to lift 25kg loads
unencumbered

- Demonstrate a clear understanding of "performance" etiquette, including a comprehensive knowledge of theatre traditions, protocol and terminology

- Demonstrate a high level of skill in interpreting and implementing set plans and technical drawings

- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of safety procedures, risk management and safe work practices

- Exhibit excellent organisation and communication skills, written and verbal

- Demonstrated ability to work with creative and technical personnel.
