Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Deck Hand /flyman to join our theatrical production team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth fly operations during performances and rehearsals. This position requires a keen attention to detail, strong teamwork skills, and a passion for the performing arts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Flyman in operating and maintaining flying equipment, provided by ZFX including rigging, pulleys, and counterweights.
- Help with set changes during tech runs and performances, ensuring that all items related to scene changes are safely set and stuck.
- Collaborate with stage management, designers, and other crew members to execute scene transitions and special effects.
- Carry out pre-show checks on equipment and assist in troubleshooting any mechanical issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on stage and in the fly rail.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in load-in and load-out processes, helping to set up and strike scenery and equipment.
- Attend rehearsals, offering support and adapting to changes in staging as directed.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in stage operations or a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of rigging and flying systems in theatrical settings is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure during performances.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly

Compensation: Day rate- $225.00

Dates: Rehearsals June 30, July 1,2,3,5,6,8,9,10,11
Performances July 12,13,18,19,20,25,26,27

Daily Commute expense from NYC or comparable distance covered. No housing.
60 minute commute Metro North train from NYC.
