TheaterWorksUSA is seeking a qualified Head Audio/Carp for its upcoming touring production of Dog Man The Musical. The production will travel around the United States and Canada performing at various theaters and concert venues. This position will require a skilled manager who can supervise varying and diverse local crews to ensure that all technical elements are executed safely and efficiently.
This position reports to the NY-Based TheaterWorksUSA Technical Director who is not travelling with the production; an ideal candidate will have strong self-accountability and should be comfortable operating independently.
THIS IS A TOURING POSITION THAT TRAVELS ACROSS THE U.S.-CANADA BORDER.
THE HEAD AUDIO/CARP MUST HOLD A VALID U.S. PASSPORT WHICH
MUST BE VALID THROUGH JUNE 14, 2025!!!
A successful candidate will have the following:
+bull; Minimum of 5 years+rsquo; experience as a manager, head position, or supervisor in a theatrical capacity
+bull; Valid U.S. Driver+rsquo;s License (any state), must not expire before June 14, 2025
+bull; REQUIRED: Valid U.S. Passport, must not expire before June 14, 2025
+bull; Comfortability with analyzing and understanding technical drawings and draftings
+bull; Experience with theatrical audio mixing for a musical
+bull; Familiarity with theatrical audio equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, etc.
+bull; Moderate carpentry and/or crafts skills
+bull; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+bull; Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task
+bull; Ability to maintain poise and control under pressure
+bull; Experience with audio mixing of theatrical productions
+bull; Knowledge of theatrical fly and rigging systems
+bull; Experience with safe loading practices of a box truck
+bull; Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
+bull; Comfortability with ladders and motorized personnel lifts up-to 25+rsquo; above ground level
Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations:
+bull; Oversee and lead scenic and audio load-in and load-out at each venue
+bull; Advance with venues on the touring route no more than 30 days prior to performance dates
+bull; Ensure compliance with TheaterWorksUSA safety policies and venue-specific policies
+bull; Maintain and refurbish various production assets such as scenery, props, soft goods, etc.
+bull; Mix the show audio for all performances
+bull; Work alongside the Production Stage Manager to advance the technical and production elements of the production prior to arrival
+bull; Take and implement creative and technical notes during rehearsals and performances
+bull; Participate in production and management meetings, both during pre-production and after opening
+bull; Work with Stage Management team, Head Electrician, and the main office to manage the touring company as a team and foster a cohesive community on the road
+bull; Monitor labor usage and spending to ensure compliance with budget restrictions
+bull; Participate in driving in company-provided passenger vehicle to each tour stop
TheaterWorksUSA has a zero-tolerance policy for substance abuse while working; any employees displaying any signs of drinking, intoxication, or other substance abuse during work hours will be terminated immediately
