The Old Globe, a Tony Award-winning theatre and one of the country+rsquo;s leading regional LORT B+ theatres seeking qualified applicants for Assistant Wig and Makeup Supervisor. The Old Globe is known for producing a broad range of work from Shakespeare and the classical repertoire to world premiere musicals and plays on its three stages, plus a +ldquo;Globe for All+rdquo; touring program that performs in community venues throughout San Diego County.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Assist the Wig and Makeup Supervisor in building, styling, and maintaining wigs, hair and make up for The Old Globe+rsquo;s 15-show season and additional projects, with wigs being the primary focus of the position.
Maintaining a clean, well-organized workspace, and participating in maintaining a large stock of wigs, products, and equipment used in the creation of wigs, hairstyles and makeup.

Required Skills and Abilities
Candidates MUST have experience ventilating and building lace front wigs.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and abilities:
+bull; Two to four years+rsquo; experience in a theatrical wig shop or equivalent combination of wig, professional hairdressing and cutting experience and/or training required.
+bull; Must have experience ventilating wigs. Experience with makeup a plus. A cosmetology license would be welcome but not required.
+bull; Work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday 40 hours/week, 9am-6pm, with overtime and weekend assignments. This is a full-time, IATSE Local 122 Union position.. The hourly rate is $28.36/hour for 2025 and $29.49/ hour in 2026; benefits include vacation, and IATSE Pension, and Union Health plans.
