Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), in Washington, DC, seeks an Assistant Company Manager to support an incredible array of local and visiting artists who create the renowned work on our stages. This position works as part of a highly collaborative General Management department. Reporting to our Company Manager, this position plays a key role in welcoming the artists for our core mainstage season and international presentations into the STC community, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their residency. Alongside the Company Manager, the Assistant Company Manager will serve as a key point of contact for all actors and stage managers through check-ins at the theater as well as our on-call Company Management Hotline. They will support the logistics for all travel, hospitality, accommodations, and health and wellness needs for all visiting artists over the course of the season. Additionally, the Assistant Company Manager will provide administrative support for both the General Management and Artistic departments including processing payments and budget tracking. This role also collaborates with the Resident Casting Director, assisting on upcoming casting processes via audition monitoring, scheduling appointments, community outreach, database maintenance, and filing. This is a full-time, on-site position with excellent benefits and an annual salary of $47,000 - $50,000. The start date for this position will be June 30, 2025.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor+rsquo;s degree in Theatre or a related field and/or 1-2 years professional company management or theater administration experience, a keen instinct for customer service, and an interest in Artistic and casting processes. Knowledge of Equity and/or League of Resident Theatre agreements is a strong plus. Must be able to work well in an active, team-based environment while being able to concentrate and perform under deadlines. Creative problem solving, diplomacy, and business sense are required, as well as the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. This position also requires a valid drivers+rsquo; license and the ability to lift 50lbs.
