This role is the strategic lead for all technical and facility-related operations across the theatre + school. They ensure all shows, classes, and events are technically supported, scheduled, and maintained within the theatre's standards. They bridge creative needs with logistical execution.

Key Responsibilities

Production Oversight:
Schedule tech rehearsals and crew coverage across all stages
Create and distribute weekly production calendars
Coordinate tech logistics for Groundlings main shows, student shows, rentals, + special events
Serve as the technical liaison to directors, writers, and producers
Work closely with stage managers to ensure they are show ready

Technical Management:
Oversee + General Knowledge of lighting, sound, projection, and streaming equipment
Coordinate with part-time staff or contractors for complex setups
Ensure tech equipment is maintained, repaired, or upgraded as needed

Production Management + Oversight:
Maintain regular maintenance schedules for theatre and classrooms
Identify and address building repair needs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
Coordinate and maintain communication with external vendors
Manage cleaning and janitorial services where applicable

Personnel + Budgeting:
Supervise and delegate tasks to part-time Technical Coordinator
Create and manage department budgets for tech and facilities
Provide weekly updates to leadership on status and spending

Skills Required:
Excellent project management and communication
Strong working knowledge of lighting/sound systems
Able to translate creative needs into technical execution
Organized, resourceful, and calm under pressure
Familiarity with live-streaming and video production (basic level)

Compensation + Benefits:

This is a full-time, salaried position, but will be part-time for training for the first 4 weeks+mdash;we're looking to start someone as soon as possible with an official start date of May 1, 2025.
