West Edge Opera is seeking an Assistant Stage Manager on Dolores.

Our venue is at the Oakland Scottish Rite Center in Oakland, CA 1547 Lakeside Drive, in Oakland, CA

Rehearsal start: Thurs, June 26 (start date is negotiable before 7/7)
Final room run: Fri, July 18
Tech: Mon, July 21 - Tues, July 29
Performances: Sat, Aug 2 (2pm); Sun, Aug 10 (2pm); Sat, Aug 16 (8pm)

This is a co-production with West Edge Opera, Opera Southwest, and San Diego Opera. The stage management staff being hired is for West Edge Opera leg only.

Other notes:
must have local housing
Vehicle is ideal, but we have some carpools happening.
must have laptop or tablet to access/create paperwork
must have basic music reading skills (unlike typical opera formats, singers will not be cued in, but being able to follow along to know when scene changes are is helpful.)
should be able to lift and carry 25-lbs
must be able to track prop handoffs and any scenic changes
must be able to handle lots of stairs (the historic venue has a lot of stairs throughout.)
must be able to learn quickly (especially if choosing to start later) and be proactive

This is a job for a person interested in working in a non-traditional setting and who can work in a collaborative team environment. Ideally, it would be someone with a bit of professional or community theater stage management experience.
