Costume Shop Manager

A Noise Within (ANW) in Pasadena performs and produces classical theatre as an essential
means for our community to confront the universal human experience, expand personal
awareness, and challenge individual perspectives. We seek a dynamic and experienced
Costume Shop Manager to join our ambitious and growing organization. The professional
Equity company produces 6 mainstage productions including A Christmas Carol each season.

Overview:
The Costume Shop Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the costume shop
including design integration, construction, fitting, repairing, cleaning, storing, and cataloging of costumes. The Costume Shop Manager also manages all aspects of ANW wardrobe and
theatrical costumes during all performances, including presentations on the main stage,
educational, outreach, and marketing services. Reports to Production Manager.

Responsibilities
+bull; Work in conjunction with Production Manager and designers to rent, create and
maintain all costume pieces for productions.
+bull; Oversee construction, fitting, and alteration of costumes
+bull; Assist designers with online purchases as needed
+bull; Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the costume shop.
+bull; Ensure that all costume notes are completed in a timely manner.
+bull; Maintain costumes during a show run
+bull; Mange the rental of costumes to outside parties
+bull; Create patterns from renderings or images
+bull; Supervise and schedule Costume Shop Assistant (with Production Manager)
+bull; Supervise and schedule all over hire stitchers and wig assistants
+bull; Ensure that all laundry is completed before each performance
+bull; Maintain A Noise Within costume stock
+bull; Maintain wigs/make-up area
+bull; Track costume shop budget, over-hire stitcher budget, dry cleaning budget and costume
budgets (with Production Manager)
+bull; Schedule laundry and wardrobe changeover crew as needed (with Production Manager)
+bull; Dry Clean and restock all costume pieces after production has closed.
+bull; Ensure all rental items are returned in a timely manner after productions have closed.
+bull; Ensure that all equipment in the costume shop is maintained and in working order. Alert
the Production Manager immediately if something needs to be repaired or replaced.
+bull; Maintain and assemble A Christmas Carol costumes annually, supervising all alterations
and flagging any items that should be retired and rebuilt.
Maintain Dressing rooms to ensure they are ready for actors
+bull; Make sure supplies are fully stocked
+bull; Ensure the readiness of Understudy costumes often pulling items from our own stock.
+bull; Provide support for special events when needed
+bull; Assist with SWS technical classes

Salary of $56,000-58,000 annually commensurate with experience, health benefits and
